Redang Island Resort is situated in a quiet area of Redang Island which was a bonus point as we were looking for tranquility. Encik Ariff was kind enough to upgrade us to a seaview room which had a lovely view of the sunrise and sunset and the backyard was overlooking the sea. The room itself is set amidst a Malay kampung wooden house and had its appeal. This is Berjaya's older resort and is a bit run down but if refurbishing and renovations are done it has the potential to be much better. The room itself was very basic, set in the 80's style hotel and had an old shower head. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. There are numerous activities like snorkeling and island hopping that you can book direct from the hotel. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The breakfast buffet could have been improved upon with perhaps a counter that serves scrambled eggs made on the spot. There was not much fruit served and the porridge was tasteless. There were chipped plates still being used and definitely should be replaced. Much to be improved at the breakfast buffet.

Connection to turtle beach by scooter. Less touristic than long beach. Price compared to other resorts

Food was poorly prepared, especially considering the price. The swimming pool was green and unusable. Without a scooter you are trapped between the hotel and the jetty.

No doubt upon check-in there's a little hiccups but after staying through then realising it was such best hospitality that I had ever found during my vacation Malaysia. And can't help to recommend others to stay in this hotel if you guys travelling to Redang Island. From the staffs to all etc. You will feel it was home away from home........thank uou Redang Island Resort.

Almost nothing

the staffs were very friendly and attentive. quick response to everything we requested for. we rented motorbike on the second day. so villages. there was a public beach near tharaas. thanks to the staffs who informed us on this. glad we visited the beach. they gave complimentary coupon to visit marine park.

the resort area was too deep in. there aren’t any access to the village unless you rent a motorbike. RM60/day. the breakfast provided on first day was terrible and it was left open. bugs were on the food.

Staff were absolutely lovely.

Very poor location, no beach nearby and can only reach one beach by taxi or moped.

The Staff is lovely and the environment is spectacular, especially for nature friendly people.

There is a small beach at the Hotel, which could be like in a dream...white sand and cristal blue water, with corals at 30 meters off the beach. But this beach is not maintained, full with garbages. Also, shuttle to beautiful public beach would be great for the guests.

the food is bad , worker's to serve also not so friendly , ferry arrangement is totally out , facilities arrangement also very bad can't communication . when check in the time inform us we have three activity , and when we register activity the time no any black and white notice given when we request also not given notice , second days then inform us we only entitle of two activity , i don't so this is three star hotel .

I really liked how it was extremely close to the jetty, it is just 3-5 minutes away and you can literally see the jetty from the hotel. The staffs are all friendly

When i first arrived, i was disappointed because one of the room that i had did not have water heater, fridge. And i complained to the hotel and they took the initiative to free upgrade me to better rooms and everything was fine.

Some Complaints:- 1)Toilet must change (New fittings & fixture) 2)At Night time many insects came that was very dangerous for man health.They bite . 3)Room light insufficient. 4) Breakfast & dinner manu change.Now this was good for foreigners.Must add Asian item. 5) No recreation item/ places/ children play area.

Food is manageable.... Location is not sea shore... its in mountain... No beach near by... we needs to go by Taxi.

Better we can spend some more money for some better place for peaceful stay on holiday.. The property is not maintained properly... Its something like 1960's... Toilet flush is not working properly and no immediate response from admin staffs... Room is full of dust... No cleanness… Better to find some other place if you can spend little more money...

Less people for privacy

It is important to know that there is no safe beach within the property proximity, need to rent a motorcycle or wait for scheduled van transportation to go to public beach (at least 5km away?). There is a tiny beach in the property (beach size is less than 100 m) but so close to busy jetty plus mosquitos feast at the beach! Not safe for a toddler. When it rains, we got water dripping onto our bed the whole night. No complaint lodged as it was our last night. Customer service needs major improvement. We requested the reception desk to pack breakfast of sandwiches (as breakfast is included in our package) as we are leaving the island for the 7am ferry ride, all they gave us are apples (unwashed, uncut). It is disappointing as we reminded the reception desk twice with 2 sets of people. Apparently nothing transpired to the morning shift workers. My 2 year-old were hungry all the way on the ferry ride for at least 1 hour and 30 mins! You are expected to lift your bag to your room. No helping hands here even with a toddler on tow.

Nice facilities and good breakfast options, kind staff and shuttle from the main jetty. Clean room, good aircon, nice view and comfortable bed.

Bathroom is a little old and no curtains in the shower let the whole bathroom area wet. Resort is a bit empty because of location.

The room is nice. Staff are really good, friendly and very helpful. We love all the staff.

I didn’t like All the facilities. All useless, No maintenance being carried out. Water in the swimming pool is dirty. Food are super expensive incompatible with the taste and slow in preparation. We came in a family but we couldn’t eat at the same time because each of the ordered food been delivered after one of us finished our own meals. The aircond compressor located outside the restaurant needs to be repaired because it was so noisy and it’s really disturbing and annoying us especially during dining time with family. It was upsetting us when we have been told that the private beach was a beach that we cannot swim in the sea and we have to go to other beach but we are lucky because the staff were so great by helping us to arrange transportation at anytime we need because of my condition of being pregnant and hard to move around by walking. The facilities at the lobby and at the back of the cafe and nearby gym and swimming pool, need to improve cleanliness. Dust is everywhere. It’s really sad to see a beautiful place without maintenance but the rate almost like a 4 star hotel.

We love that it is very peaceful and private and away from the hectic side of long beach. Hence, this was our 2nd time staying here and will probably repeat again

The resort's no where near to the beach. Public beach we have to walk down nearly 1 km... Water problem during our stay..
